Brazil has registered the biological fungicide Serenade for apples, onions, and strawberries, according to BASF. Licensed by BASF from the biopesticides company AgraQuest, Serenade will be used with traditional fungicides during the critical pre- and postharvest periods, BASF says. Serenade contains a patented strain of the bacterium Bacillus subtilis.
