Instructions for Authors and Editors

No author instructions available for .

Author instructions vary somewhat for each journal. However, there are general instructions for all journals for submitting a manuscript on diskette, preparing a diskette description form [PDF], for preparing illustrations, and special instructions for using TeX. There are also several copyright-related forms which may be used for all journals: the Copyright Status Form (PDF), Copyright Permission Request Form (Microsoft Word), interactive Copyright Permission Request Form (Microsoft Word), and a list of permission guidelines. (Note: The Copyright Status Form is in Adobe's PDF format. The Adobe Acrobat Reader for Macintosh, Windows, DOS, or Unix can be obtained from Adobe's World Wide Web server.)

The editors of journals published by the American Chemical Society have developed a set of ethical guidelines (PDF format) for persons engaged in the publication of chemical research; specifically, for editors, authors, and manuscript reviewers. These guidelines are offered not in the sense that there is any immediate crisis in ethical behavior, but rather from a conviction that the observance of high ethical standards is so vital to the whole scientific enterprise that a definition of those standards should be brought to the attention of all concerned.

NOTE: Instructions for Authors stored in PDF should be viewed with Acrobat 4.0 or later.
