COVER: In the center is an exploded view of a nanoscale encapsulant designed by Ciba Specialty Chemicals. The envelope, whose diameter can range from 20 to 40 nm, consists of lecithin molecules (blue spheres attached to yellow stems) alternating with cosurfactant molecules (green spheres attached to red stems). Oil-soluble active ingredients, such as vitamin precursors, are represented by the tiny red cubes. Ciba Specialty Chemicals
