Scents of disgust Since mid-2020, internet searches and social media posts using the word parosmia have rocketed. In late June 2020, the Facebook group that AbScent’s Kelly set up for people with post-COVID-19 smell loss became overwhelmed with posts about the topic. Parosmia, she explains, is often incredibly distressing, and while there are many triggers, the biggest problems center on feelings of disgust when around certain foods.
